Playing around with coding thingies

So it been a week since my last post, what the hell have I been doing. Well I have have been working on projects for the job, I have to do that they pay my wages, comes with the territory.

In my spare time I've been using Delphi for PHP to check out a few ideas I've had. Its much easy to test things in a decent RAD tool. I can drop a few buttons and edit boxes onto a form and wham I'm ready to try some calculations and options out without having to worry about setting anything up. I've also been reading a book on Perl. Just to see if it has anything different to PHP. There are massive amnounts of modules available for Perl so I may use something over the next months.

I also use as a development tool the PhpED tool by nusphere, usually for editing and profiling. Its a nice tool with a phpdocumentor built into the interface, and the help system has a lot of useful php info in it. I haven't used it yet but it also has smarty built in, this will probably make an appearance after the latest KoR update is over.

I've also been improving my list of ideas. I do not consider any idea to be a bad one. I write any old rubbish down, and just take the parts that I can see will work. I don't remove the rubbish ones, as they may become something at another point in time. They also work as a spring board on those days you cannot think of anything. Just read through them and see if anything jumps out at me.

I intend today, Sunday, to make a dent in the KoR updates I've been working on for a while. Now I have my office almost finished I can get on with things. I'm a bit anal that way, I cannot work in a untidy environment, its just my way, I like to feel confortable.

I'll try to post maybe once or twice a week, maybe regular Sunday posts will be best.
